Work Your Art is an online art business course and a website with resources for emerging or established artists looking to better their skills in business. The blog features really great posts and there is a section with artist interviews. Debbie, the woman behind the site (an artist herself), got in touch and asked a few questions about how I got started and how I continue to make a living from my creations.

North Woodside Community Centre Illustration

There are places in your community that you grow up with. You hung out there when you were young, you’ve taken classes there, rented the facility and the staff is like family. North Woodside Community Centre is one of those places for me. Being that I’ve lived in the same neighborhood my whole life and at my current address 24 years, I have a vast appreciation for the familiar things, places and people that have been apart of my community since those early days.

NWCC is fundraising for an addition to the Centre, planning to build a large multi-purpose room and a functional kitchen off the gymnasium. They got in touch with me to create an image to illustrate the new addition to display at a press release on Jan 16th to announce the expansion and the funding they have received so far.

East London Mornings

East London Mornings is the new art guide through Hackney independent hidden cafes. This is a non-profit publishing project started by London-based photographer Katya Katkova with the ultimate goal to publish an art guide to the best Hackney morning spots.

I was delighted to contribute to East London Mornings by illustrating Andor Bureau a lovely cafe and gallery located on Mare Street in London. Visit the website to view the project and all the lovely illustrations and writings that coincide with each venue.

I am thrilled to be featured in this years Buy Local Guide! The Coast publishes these small booklets promoting local independent retailers with fashion, accessories, home style and lots more. My new holiday card photographed at Inkwell Boutique is on the cover and my ‘Playful Pups’ print and a short write up are found on page twenty as part of “Home is where the art is” featuring local photographers, painters and illustrators. Letterpress announcement collaboration

Yule Tide Cheer – Winter Market December 3-4

The best craft show in the city is back for it’s 6th annual winter market! With over 80 crafters offering everything from jewelery to paper crafts to plush to pottery, the Olympic Centre will be full of Yuletide Cheer.

The show is from 11am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday (December 3-4). There’ll be lots of great gift ideas at every table and food vendors selling lunch and cupcakes and coffee.

Come find me and say hello! The last two shows I have been on the second level so be sure to head upstairs if you don’t see me on the main level. I have some new items in the works and am looking forward to hearing what you think of them! – Anna

Appliance Pro – branding, cards, web

A start-up business on a budget needing the most bang for the buck. Appliance Pro and I brainstormed and came up with a strategy consisting of banding and logo design, cards and a fun single page website. With word of mouth on his side, he has been in hi demand since we launched only a week ago.
